QUALIFICHE THAI GP: VIETTI CONQUISTA LA PRIMA FILA, MENTRE LÓPEZ SI ASSICURA LA TERZA 

Si è da poco conclusa la seconda giornata del Thai GP con un risultato eccezionale per Celestino Vietti che conquista la front row, mentre Alonso López si assicura una solida terza fila per la gara di domani.

Dopo una FP2 dedicata all’analisi delle gomme e al perfezionamento del feeling con la sua Boscoscuro, Vietti ha dovuto affrontare la Q1 a causa del sedicesimo tempo ottenuto nelle Practice di ieri. Con grande determinazione, il pilota italiano ha ottenuto l’accesso alla Q2 grazie a un giro veloce in 1’35.144. Nella sessione decisiva, il talento di Cirié ha imposto subito il proprio ritmo e, con un eccezionale 1’34.670, si è guadagnato il secondo posto, a soli +0.036 da González. Grazie a questo risultato, Vietti scatterà dunque dalla prima fila, accanto ai piloti spagnoli #18 e #44.

Anche Alonso López ha sfruttato la sessione di prove libere del mattino per lavorare ulteriormente sul set-up della moto, senza concentrarsi sul giro veloce. In Q2, all’ultimo tentativo disponibile, il pilota madrileno ha fermato il cronometro in 1’35.090, assicurandosi la nona posizione e una partenza dalla terza fila per la gara di domani.

“Oggi è stata una giornata intensa: abbiamo lavorato duramente per trovare la soluzione migliore in vista della gara di domani. Sappiamo che il ritmo dei primi è elevato e che alcuni di loro sono stati competitivi in tutte le sessioni. Non mi aspetto di salire sul podio, ma sono certo che possiamo fare una buona gara”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 2° in 1’34.670

“Sono molto soddisfatto soprattutto perché ieri il feeling con la gomma usata era buono, ma avevo bisogno di tempo per adattarmi a quella nuova. Oggi, con qualche aggiustamento, siamo riusciti a migliorare. In Q1 ho commesso alcuni errori, ma sono comunque riuscito ad accedere in Q2, dove ho trovato il mio giro veloce e ho conquistato la prima fila. Questo è un punto a nostro favore perché con questo caldo possiamo evitare il calore della moto. Domani dovremo gestire bene la partenza e mantenere un ritmo costante; vedremo come si concluderà la gara”.

THAI GP QUALIFYING: VIETTI SECURES THE FRONT ROW, WHILE LÓPEZ CLAIMS THE THIRD

The second day of the Thai GP has just concluded with an outstanding result for Celestino Vietti, who secured a spot on the front row, while Alonso López ensured a solid third-row start for tomorrow’s race.
After a FP2 session focused on tire analysis and refining the feeling with his Boscoscuro, Vietti had to face Q1 due to the sixteenth fastest time in yesterday’s Practice. With great determination, the Italian rider made it through to Q2 with a fast lap of 1’35.144. In the decisive session, the Cirié talent immediately set the pace and, with an exceptional 1’34.670, secured second place, just +0.036 behind González. Thanks to this result, Vietti will start from the front row, alongside Spanish riders #18 and #44.
Alonso López also took advantage of the morning practice session to further work on the bike setup, not focusing on the fast lap. In Q2, on his last available attempt, the Madrid rider stopped the clock at 1’35.090, securing ninth place and a third-row start for tomorrow’s race.

“Today was an intense day: we worked hard to find the best solution for the race tomorrow. We know the pace of the front riders is high, and some of them have been competitive in all the sessions. I don’t expect to be on the podium, but I’m sure we can have a good race”.

“I’m very satisfied, especially because yesterday the feeling with the used tire was good, but I needed time to adapt to the new one. Today, with a few adjustments, we were able to improve. In Q1, I made some mistakes, but I still managed to get into Q2, where I found my fast lap and secured the front row. This is an advantage for us because, with this heat, we can avoid the bike’s heat. Tomorrow we’ll have to manage the start well and maintain a consistent pace; we’ll see how the race ends”.
