FP3 DI CADUTE MA OTTIME QUALIFICHE: SECONDA E QUARTA FILA PER LÓPEZ E ALDEGUER

Al Circuit of the Americas si è appena conclusa la seconda giornata del GP americano. I piloti del Beta Tools SpeedUp team hanno ottenuto la seconda e quarta fila di partenza per la gara di domani.

Inizio burrascoso per Alonso che dopo pochi minuti dall’inizio delle FP3 è scivolato a terra, fortunatamente senza gravi conseguenze. Al rientro al box la squadra si è subito messa all’opera per ristabilire la Boscoscuro del numero 21 che è però riuscito ad entrare in pista a soli 50 secondi dalla fine della terza sessione, solo per ristabilire un buon feeling con la sua moto. Lopez ha concluso le prove libere diciottesimo costretto quindi ad affrontare le Q1 dove, dopo essersi classificato tra i primi quattro, si è guadagnato l’accesso alle Q2. Dopo un rapido cambio di gomme Alonso ha tirato fuori gli artigli abbassando il suo best time di ben 1 secondo classificandosi con il crono di 2’09.751, P5 e un’ottima seconda fila della griglia di partenza di domani.

Anche per Fermin la giornata non è iniziata nei migliori dei modi. Infatti dopo pochi minuti dall’inizio delle FP3 il numero 54 è caduto bruscamente riscontrando un dolore al polso. Dopo il check al centro medico, dove per fortuna non son state riscontrate gravi lesioni, il pilota murciano è ripartito dalla Q1 dov’è riuscito ad assicurarsi il pass per la Q2. Nella qualifica finale, dopo il cambio gomme, Aldeguer è rientrato in pista e con un solo giro a disposizione è riuscito a prendersi l’undicesima posizione in classifica aggiudicandosi così la quarta fila.

LÓPEZ #21: 5° in 2’09.751

“Sono abbastanza contento di come è andata la qualifica. Sono consapevole di aver commesso qualche errore e questo probabilmente perché era dal 2019 che non correvo in questa pista. Ho fatto il meglio che potevo e per domani andrò con calma anche perché la pista è larga e complicata. Carico per domani!”. 

ALDEGUER #54: 11° in 2’10.153

“Non posso che essere contento del risultato finale di oggi dopo la dura caduta di questa mattina. Comunque sia siamo riusciti a passare le Q1 che per noi era importante. Abbiamo affrontato la seconda qualifica più tranquilli per fare una bella gara e infatti mi sono classificato undicesimo che è il miglior risultato raggiunto fino ad adesso. Motivato a fare bene domani e a dare il meglio!”.

FP3 OF CRASHES BUT EXCELLENT QUALIFYING: SECOND AND FOURTH ROW FOR LÓPEZ AND ALDEGUER

The second day of the American GP has just ended at the Circuit of the Americas. The Beta Tools SpeedUp riders got the second and fourth starting row for tomorrow’s race.

Stormy start for Alonso who crashed down a few minutes into FP3, fortunately without serious consequences. Upon returning to the garage, the team immediately set to work to re-establish the Boscoscuro bike of the number 21 who however managed to enter the track just 50 seconds from the end of the third session, just to re-establish a good feeling with his bike. Lopez ended free practice eighteenth, therefore forced to face Q1 where, after finishing in the top four, he gained access to Q2. After a quick tire change, Alonso got his claws out, lowering his best time by a good 1 second, classifying himself with a time of 2’09.751, P5 and an excellent second row on tomorrow’s starting grid.

Even for Fermin the day didn’t start in the best way. In fact, after a few minutes from the start of FP3, number 54 crashed suddenly experiencing pain in his wrist. After the check at the medical centre, where luckily no serious injuries were found, the rider from Murcia restarted from Q1 where he managed to secure his pass for Q2. In the final qualifying, after the tire change, Aldeguer rejoined the track and with only one lap available he managed to take the eleventh position in the standings, thus gaining the fourth row.

LÓPEZ #21: 5^th in 2’09.751

“I’m quite happy with how qualifying went. I am aware that I made some mistakes and this is probably because I haven’t raced at this track since 2019. I did the best I could and for tomorrow I’ll take my time also because the track is wide and complicated. Excited for tomorrow!”.

ALDEGUER #54: 11^th in 2’10.153

“I can only be happy with today’s final result after the hard crash this morning. In any case, we managed to pass Q1 which was important for us. We tackled the second qualifying more calmly to have a good race and in fact I finished eleventh which is the best result achieved so far. Motivated to do well tomorrow and to give my best!”.
