QUALIFICHE THAILANDESI: LÓPEZ IN SECONDA FILA, ALDEGUER IN SETTIMA

Il team BETA TOOLS SpeedUp chiude le qualifiche del Gran Premio di Thailandia con il sesto posto di Alonso López ed il ventunesimo di Fermín Aldeguer aggiudicandosi rispettivamente la seconda e settima fila della griglia di partenza.

López ha concluso il buon lavoro di ieri chiudendo le tre sessioni di libere con il sesto tempo in 1’36.171 (+0.615) che ha segnato nelle FP3 del mattino dopo lo stop ai box per il cambio gomme. Con il sesto crono la squadra #21 ha ottenuto l’accesso diretto alle Q2. Nei quindici minuti a disposizione, Alonso centra l’obiettivo già al terzo giro in pista segnando un competitivo 1’35.987 che equivale alla sesta posizione e seconda fila nella partenza della gara di domani.

Giornata invece più complicata per Aldeguer già dalle FP3 del mattino in cui, anche dopo le modifiche alla messa a punto, non è riuscito a migliorare il suo giro veloce concludendo le tre prove libere in p21. Costretto ad affrontare le Q1, Fermín è sceso in pista per la lotta alle prime quattro posizioni che danno accesso alle qualifiche finali. Dopo due giri è rientrato ai box per il cambio gomme e nel run finale, sebbene il feeling fosse migliorato, si è fermato a soli +0.164 dalle Q2 chiudendo la prova in p21.

“Oggi abbiamo fatto un gran passo in avanti con la messa a punto della moto, dimostrando di poter stare nel primo gruppo. Domani possiamo fare una gran bella gara, sarà molto dura e lunga ma il feeling con la moto è molto buono e possiamo lottare! Siamo fiduciosi e pronti a dare il massimo come sempre facciamo!”.

“Non del tutto contento delle qualifiche di oggi, ma sicuramente più ottimista di questa mattina in cui il feeling non era per niente buono. In qualifica abbiamo trovato più stabilità e sicuramente siamo riusciti a guidare meglio la Boscoscuro. Non abbiamo raggiunto il risultato che speravamo, ma abbiamo ritrovato un buon ritmo che ci lascia speranzosi per la gara di domani”.

THAI QUALIFYING: SECOND ROW FOR LÓPEZ, SEVENTH FOR ALDEGUER

BETA TOOLS SpeedUp team close the Thai Grand Prix qualifying with the sixth place of Alonso López and the twenty-first of Fermín Aldeguer, taking respectively the second and seventh row of the starting grid.

López finished yesterday’s good work by closing the three free practice sessions with the sixth fastest time in 1’36.171 (+0.615) which he scored in FP3 in the morning after stopping in the pits to change tires. With the sixth time, team #21 got direct access to Q2. In the fifteen minutes available, Alonso hit the target already on the third lap on track, scoring a competitive 1’35.987 which is equivalent to sixth position and second row of tomorrow’s start.

On the other hand, it was a more complicated day for Aldeguer already from FP3 in the morning in which, even after the changes to the set-up, he was unable to improve his fastest lap, concluding the three free practices in p21. Forced to face the Q1, Fermín went back on track to fight for the top four positions that give access to the final qualifying. After two laps he returned to the pits to change tires and in the final run, although the feeling had improved, he stopped just +0.164 from Q2, finishing the quali in p21.

“Today we took a big step forward with the bike setting, showing that we can stay in the first group and do a great race tomorrow. It will be very hard and long but the feeling with the bike is very good and we can fight! We are confident and ready to give our best as we always do!”.

“Not entirely happy with today’s qualifying, but certainly more optimistic than this morning when the feeling was not good at all. In qualifying we found more stability and we were certainly able to ride the Boscoscuro bike better. We didn’t reach the result we hoped for, but we found a good pace that leaves us hopeful for tomorrow’s race”.
