Le qualifiche al Motegi Mobility Circuit hanno visto Alonso López e Fermin Aldeguer conquistarsi la seconda e la terza fila della griglia di partenza, rispettivamente in sesta e in nona posizione.
Inizio difficile per il numero 21 che ha chiuso anticipatamente l’ultima prova di libere a causa di una scivolata in curva 1. Con la diciannovesima posizione, Alonso ha dovuto dunque affrontato le Q1 del pomeriggio dove ha schiacciato il miglior tempo della sessione: 1’50.089. L’impegno della squadra 21 ha continuato anche in Q2 dove infatti, con il crono di 1’50.150 (+0.252), López ha conquistato la sesta posizione e la seconda fila della griglia di partenza.
Ottima la prestazione di Fermín nella prima sessione del mattino in cui è riuscito a superare le difficoltà riscontrate il giorno precedente e lavorare bene con la gomma nuova. Difatti, il pilota 54 ha chiuso le FP3 con il quinto tempo in 1’50.586. In Q2 Aldeguer ha continuato a fare i progressi sperati riducendo il crono precedentemente segnato. Con il nono tempo in 1’50.362, il numero 54 inizierà la quattordicesima gara di campionato dalla terza fila.

“Dopo un fine settimana incerto sono molto contento dei risultati di oggi. Insieme alla squadra abbiamo provato diverse varianti che hanno portato molti feedback positivi. Domani affronterò la gara tranquillamente senza farmi abbattere dai due long lap che mi aspettano”.

“Giornata positiva. Abbiamo trovato la giusta messa a punto e finalmente sono riuscito a sfruttare anche la gomma nuova facendo dei grandi progressi. Il ritmo c’è e quindi daremo il massimo per fare una buona gara”.

Qualifying at the Motegi Mobility Circuit saw Alonso López and Fermin Aldeguer snatched the second and third rows of the starting grid, in sixth and ninth position respectively.
Difficult start for number 21 who ended the last free practice session early due to a crash in turn 1. With nineteenth position, Alonso therefore had to face Q1 in the afternoon where he set the best time of the session: 1′ 50,089. The commitment of team 21 also continued in Q2 where, in fact, with a time of 1’50.150 (+0.252), López took sixth position and the second row of the starting grid.
Fermín’s performance was excellent in the first session of the morning in which he managed to overcome the difficulties encountered the previous day and work well with the new tyre. In fact, the rider 54 closed FP3 with the fifth fastest time in 1’50.586. In Q2 Aldeguer continued to make the desired progress by reducing the time previously set. With the ninth time of 1’50.362, the number 54 will start the fourteenth race of the championship from the third row.
