PROVE LIBERE: LIGHTECH SPEEDUP TEAM AL LAVORO NELLA PRIMA GIORNATA DEL GRAN PREMIO DI STYRIA

Dopo una lunga pausa estiva, il Team SpeedUp è tornato in pista quest’oggi al Red Bull Ring, nei pressi di Zeltweg, Austria, vestendo ancora una volta i colori della nota azienda sponsor LighTech.

I piloti del team LighTech SpeedUp iniziano la prima giornata del decimo appuntamento della stagione con il sedicesimo ed il ventiseiesimo posto.

Montella, rientrato dall’infortunio al polso destro subito durante una caduta nel Gran Premio di Francia, è sceso in pista oggi per la prima volta sul tracciato austriaco ottenendo notevoli progressi durante le due sessioni. Yari ha chiuso il venerdì del Gran Premio di Stiria in p26 con il tempo di 1’30.303 a +1.188 dal primo.

Navarro ha concluso la sua prima giornata con il sedicesimo tempo in 1’29.629 ottenuto nella prima di libere con un gap di soli +0.514. Nelle FP2 Jorge ed il suo team hanno provato alcune modifiche al setting della moto che però non hanno portato i risultati sperati. Complici una caduta a metà sessione e la pista in condizione miste ad inizio prova, il valenciano non è riuscito ad abbassare il tempo del mattino.

JORGE NAVARRO #9: 16^° in 1’29.629

“Giornata un po’ strana. Questa mattina abbiamo iniziato abbastanza bene anche se le sensazioni non erano le migliori, ma il ritmo era abbastanza competitivo. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo fatto delle modifiche alla moto che non mi hanno dato nessun vantaggio, tutt’altro. Son caduto senza capire il motivo per il quale ho perso l’anteriore in quel modo. Purtroppo la caduta ha condizionato molto le FP2 perché al rientro in pista negli ultimi 10 minuti, senza il cambio gomma, il feeling con la moto non c’era e quindi la sessione è finita senza miglioramenti. Di positivo c’è che abbiamo raccolto dati e capito quale strada non prendere. Spero troveremo una soluzione domani per fare delle buone qualifiche”.

YARI MONTELLA #5: 26^° in 1’30.303

“Bellissimo tornare in pista dopo l’infortunio e quindi una pausa forzata. A casa ho avuto modo di allenarmi in moto, ma tornare in pista e fare le gare è tutta un’altra emozione! Questa mattina è andata abbastanza bene, la pista non la conoscevo, e sebbene la ventiquattresima posizione, eravamo a +1.188 dal primo e non è male. Nel pomeriggio invece abbiamo fatto più fatica perché le condizioni erano cambiate. Abbiamo provato delle modifiche e cambiato le gomme senza però ottenere grandi risultati ma almeno abbiamo capito come affrontare le FP3 di domani”.

FREE PRACTICE: LIGHTECH SPEEDUP TEAM AT WORK ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE GRAND PRIX OF STYRIA

After a long summer break, the SpeedUp Team is back on track at the Red Bull Ring, near Zeltweg, Austria, once again wearing the colors of the well-known sponsor company LighTech.

LighTech SpeedUp team riders started the first day of the tenth round of the season with the sixteenth and the twenty-sixth places.

Montella, who returned from an injury to his right wrist suffered during a crash in the French Grand Prix, went back to the track today for the first time on the Austrian circuit, achieving considerable progress during the two sessions. Yari closed the Styrian Grand Prix Friday in p26 with a time of 1’30.303 with a gap of +1.188 from the first.

Navarro finished his first day with the sixteenth time in 1’29.629 obtained in the first free practice with a gap of only +0.514. In FP2, Jorge and his team tried some changes to the Boscoscuro bike’s setting which, however, did not bring the desired results. Due to a crash in the middle of the session and the track in mixed conditions at the beginning of the practice, the Valencian was unable to lower the time took in the morning.

“A bit strange day. This morning we started well enough even if the feeling wasn’t the best, but the pace was quite competitive. In the afternoon, we made some changes to the bike that didn’t give me any advantage, far from it. I crashed without understanding why I lost the front in that way. Unfortunately, the crash affected FP2 a lot because on getting back to the track in the last 10 minutes, without changing tires, the feeling with the bike was not there and therefore the session ended without improvement. On the positive side, we have collected data and figured out which path not to take. I hope we will find a solution tomorrow to make good qualifying”.

“It’s great to be back on track after the injury and then a forced break. At home I had the opportunity to train on other bikes, but getting back on track and racing is another thrill! This morning went quite well, I did not know the track, and although the 24th position, we were +1.188 from the first and it is not bad. In the afternoon, however, we struggled more because conditions had changed. We tried some changes and changed the tires without getting great results but at least we understood how to face tomorrow’s FP3”.
