MONTELLA DODICESIMO E NAVARO VENTESIMO NELLA PRIMA GIORNATA DEL GRAN PREMIO DEL PORTOGALLO
All’Auotodromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão, è iniziato il terzo appuntamento del Campionato Mondiale Moto2. Nel primo Gran Premio europeo della stagione, il team LighTech SpeedUp termina la prima giornata di prove libere al dodicesimo posto con il rookie Montella, mentre Navarro chiude ventesimo.
Buon inizio per Yari in questo venerdì portoghese. Il numero 5 del team rimedia feeling e confidenza con la sua Boscoscuro già nelle FP1. Nella sessione del pomeriggio Montella continua l’ottimo lavoro trovando ritmo e stabilità e chiude con il dodicesimo posto in 1’44.102 abbassando di oltre un secondo il tempo del mattino.
Una giornata un po’ insolita per Navarro. Inizia bene la prima sessione, p7 raggiunta con il giro 16/19 in cui segna il suo miglior crono in 1’44.526. Qualche dettaglio da sistemare ma il feeling è buono. Le modifiche apportate prima del rientro in pista per la seconda sessione di libere non danno il vantaggio sperato e così la squadra 9 chiude il primo giorno del GP del Portogallo in ventesima posizione.

“Sono contento di questa prima giornata. Siamo partiti con il piede giusto capendo subito dove concentrare il nostro lavoro sia sulla mia guida che sul setting della moto. Ho sofferto un po’ la mancanza di grip nella sessione del mattino, ma già nelle FP2 il feeling era migliore. Piano piano mi sto adattando sempre di più alla guida della Boscoscuro, c’è ancora molto da lavorare ma oggi siamo soddisfatti del lavoro svolto e del risultato ottenuto!”.
JORGE NAVARRO #9: ° in 1’44.491
“Giornata strana perché questa mattina mi sentivo bene anche con le gomme con più giri. Dovevamo migliorare qualche dettaglio, ma eravamo competitivi. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo fatto delle modifiche alla moto che sin da subito non c’hanno dato le sensazioni che speravamo. Abbiamo provato a lavorare su questa base ma non abbiamo migliorato il feeling. Domani proveremo a cambiare le cose e a fare il passo in avanti per le qualifiche”.
MONTELLA TWELFTH AND NAVARO TWENTIETH IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE PORTUGAL GRAND PRIX
The third round of the Moto2 World Championship has begun at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão. In the first European Grand Prix of the season, the LighTech SpeedUp team ended the first day of free practices in twelfth place with rookie Montella, while Navarro finished in twentieth position.
Good start for Yari on this Portuguese Friday. The number 5 of the team found feeling and confidence with his Boscoscuro bike already in FP1. In the afternoon session Montella continued his excellent work finding rhythm and stability and closed twelfth in 1’44.102, lowering the morning time by more than a second.
An unusual day for Navarro. The first session went well, p7 reached with lap 16/19 in which he marked his best time in 1’44.526. A few details to fix but the feeling was good. The changes made before going out on track for the second free practice session didn’t give the hoped-for advantage and so team 9 closed the first day of the Portuguese GP in twentieth position.

“I’m happy with this first day. We started off on the right foot and immediately understood where to focus our work on both my riding style and the setting of the bike. I suffered a bit from the lack of grip in the morning session, but already in FP2 the feeling was better. Slowly I am adapting more and more to driving the Boscoscuro, there is still a lot of work to do but today we are satisfied with the work done and the result obtained!”.

“Weird day because this morning I felt good even with the tires with more laps. We had to improve some details, but we were competitive. In the afternoon we made some changes to the bike that didn’t give us the sensations we hoped for right from the start. We tried to work on this basis but we didn’t improve the feeling. Tomorrow we will try to change things and take the step forward for qualifying”.
