I piloti MB Conveyors Speed Up Jorge Navarro e Yari Montella hanno terminato le qualifiche del Gran Premio di Doha classificandosi rispettivamente in diciassettesima e ventiduesima posizione.

Molto vento in questa seconda giornata di prove che ha portato sabbia in pista rendendo le condizioni di guida più complicate.

Le ultime sessioni di libere sono servite a Navarro per provare le modifiche apportate alla moto in mattinata. Arriva il momento delle Q1 e Navarro ci mette tutta la grinta che ha superando la prima qualifica con il primo tempo in 1’59.592. Dopo pochi minuti Jorge rientra in pista per le Q2, ma fatica a chiudere un buon giro sebbene il buon feeling con la moto. P17 a fine qualifica e sesta fila di partenza della griglia di partenza di domani.

“Questa mattina nelle FP3 abbiamo provato delle modifiche alla moto ma con il vento non è stato facile capire se potevano fare al caso nostro. Per le qualifiche siamo tornati a girare con la nostra base e nella Q1 siamo stati veloci, mentre in Q2 non siamo riusciti a fare un giro buono. Forse con un po’ più di convinzione avremmo potuto fare sicuramente meglio. Ora cercheremo di capire il motivo per il quale le sensazioni che avevamo in moto nelle Q1 erano migliori di quelle che avevamo nelle Q2, ma ad ogni modo dobbiamo rimanere positivi e mettercela tutta per fare una buona gara”.

YARI MONTELLA #5: 22^° in 2’00.232

“Non male, sono pressoché contento. Già il fatto di pensare che potevamo entrare in Q2 non è male. Ci è mancata un po’ di malizia per attaccare la Q2, ma stiamo migliorando e di sicuro non siamo così distanti dal nostro obiettivo. Mi sento sicuramente più fiducioso di ieri, possiamo fare una bella gara”.
