QUALIFICHE: QUARTA E DECIMA FILA PER NAVARRO E LOPEZ

I piloti del team MB Conveyors Speed Up hanno completato le qualifiche del Gran Premi de Catalunya disputate quest’oggi al circuito Montmeló-Barcellona per determinare la loro posizione sulla griglia di partenza di domani.

Nella terza prova di libere del mattino Navarro ed il suo team non sono riusciti ad abbassare il tempo del venerdì finendo così le libere fuori dalla zona qualifica in p17 con il crono di 1’44.437. Un cambio al setting prima delle Q1 ed è subito P1 con il tempo di 1’43.684. Dopo soli 10 minuti Jorge è rientrato in pista per affrontare le Q2, consapevole di poter fare bene. Nel primo giro ha segnato un ottimo tempo, 1’43.904, ma proprio quando si stava per assicurare la prima fila è caduto alla curva 11 per evitare un altro pilota. P12 e quindi quarta fila della griglia a fine QP per il numero nove del team.

Giornata più complicata per Alonso Lopez e la sua squadra. Le sensazioni in pista per Alonso non sono migliorate da ieri e la mancanza di grip ha influito molto nella sua guida. P29 per la squadra 2 che domani partirà dalla decima fila.

JORGE NAVARRO #9: 12^° in 1’43.904

“Giornata diciamo strana! In FP3 il feeling con la moto non era buono, il ritmo sì, ma era a più di mezzo secondo dal più veloce! Per le quali abbiamo apportato alcune modifiche alla moto che hanno decisamente cambiato in meglio il mio feeling. Infatti abbiamo superato la Q1 con il primo tempo, ottenendo così l’accesso alle Q2. Purtroppo le ultime qualifiche sono finite troppo presto con una caduta mentre stavo per superare un pilota durante un giro davvero veloce. Sono entrato un po’ troppo veloce in curva e ho perso l’anteriore. Sappiamo perché siamo caduti e non ci preoccupa perché stavamo rischiando per fare la prima fila. Abbiamo fatto un gran passo in avanti e siamo pronti per fare bene in gara!”.

ALONSO LOPEZ #2: 30° in 1’45.463

“Oggi è stata una giornata dura per noi. Non siamo migliorati come speravamo e come da programma. Stiamo faticando più del previsto per migliorare il feeling e adattarmi a questi pneumatici. Ad ogni modo, domani in gara darò il 100% cercando soprattutto di non commettere errori. Abbiamo ancora il warm up per provare a capire come migliorare nei punti in cui perdiamo più tempo. Ringrazio il team per tutto il lavoro che stiamo svolgendo insieme, non vedo l’ora arrivi domani”.

QUALIFYING: FOURTH AND TENTH ROW FOR NAVARRO AND LOPEZ

“Let’s say weird day! In FP3 the feeling with the bike was not good, the pace yes, but it was more than half a second from the fastest! For which we have made some changes to the bike that have definitely changed my feeling for the better. In fact, we passed Q1 with the first time, thus gaining access to Q2. Unfortunately, the last qualifying ended too early with a crash as I was about to overtake a rider during a really fast lap. I entered the corner a bit too fast and lost the front. We know why we crashed and it doesn’t worry us because we were risking to make the front row. We have made a big step forward and we are ready to do well in the race!”.

“Today was a tough day for us. We have not improved as we hoped and as planned. We are working harder than expected to improve the feeling and adapt to these tires.
