GARA QATAR GP: VIETTI RIMONTA FINO ALLA SETTIMA POSIZIONE. LÓPEZ RESTA FUORI DALLA ZONA PUNTI

Il Team HDR Heidrun archivia il Gran Premio del Qatar con un risultato positivo grazie alla rimonta di Celestino Vietti, che chiude al settimo posto dopo una gara in crescendo. Più difficile invece la domenica di Alonso López che passa il traguardo fuori dalla zona punti.

Vietti non ha fatto una partenza ideale, mantenendo inizialmente la stessa posizione della griglia. Ma giro dopo giro, grazie a un passo gara costante e determinato, il pilota di Ciriè ha saputo risalire il gruppo con grinta, guadagnando ben sette posizioni e chiudendo la gara al settimo posto.

Inizio fulmineo invece per López, che partito dalla diciottesima posizione è riuscito a portarsi subito fino alla decima. Dopo aver effettuato la penalità, Alonso è rientrato in quattordicesima posizione, ma nel corso della gara ha faticato a difendere la posizione, chiudendo sedicesimo e quindi fuori dalla zona punti.

Il prossimo appuntamento del Campionato Mondiale Moto2 torna in Europa con il Gran Premio di Spagna, in programma il 25-27 aprile. 

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 16°

“Non è stata una gara semplice. La partenza è stata buona, sono riuscito a recuperare diverse posizioni da subito. Sfortunatamente la penalità del long lap ha compromesso la mia gara. Dopo averla scontata non sono più riuscito mantenere alto il ritmo e sono rimasto fuori dai primi quindici. Ora si torna in Europa e con alcuni aggiustamenti riusciremo a fare il passo in avanti che ci manca. Continueremo a lavorare per arrivare a Jerez più competitivi. Non vediamo l’ora!”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 7°

“Tutto sommato sono contento della gara perché siamo riusciti a limitare i danni. Abbiamo recuperato abbastanza e, in termini di ritmo, non siamo stati così distanti dai primi come lo siamo stati nel resto del weekend. La cosa più positiva e interessante è che qui abbiamo capito qualcosa in più, che ci sarà utile per lavorare meglio nelle prossime gare: sia io come guida per aiutare la moto, sia la moto per aiutare me. È stata una gara produttiva. Sicuramente non è il risultato che speravo, però abbiamo comunque portato a casa qualche punto, e non è male. La squadra mi ha dato una grande mano: abbiamo lavorato tanto e bene, quindi voglio ringraziarli. Penso che possiamo fare uno step avanti e lottare sempre di più per le prime posizioni. È stata una bella rimonta, mi sono divertito e ora cercheremo di arrivare a Jerez ancora più pronti”.

QATAR GP RACE: VIETTI FIGHTS BACK TO SEVENTH POSITION. LÓPEZ OUTSIDE THE POINTS

The HDR Heidrun Team concludes the Qatar Grand Prix with a positive result thanks to Celestino Vietti’s comeback, who finishes in seventh place after a race that improved as it went on. On the other hand, Alonso López had a more challenging Sunday, finishing outside the points.

Vietti didn’t have an ideal start, initially holding his position from the grid. However, lap by lap, with a consistent and determined race pace, the rider from Ciriè managed to climb through the field with grit, gaining seven positions and finishing the race in seventh place.

A lightning start for López, who moved up from 18th to 10th immediately. After serving his penalty, Alonso returned to 14th position, but struggled to defend his position throughout the race, finishing 16th and outside the points.

The next round of the Moto2 World Championship returns to Europe with the Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled for April 25-27.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 16th
“It wasn’t an easy race. The start was good, I was able to recover several positions right away. Unfortunately, the long lap penalty affected my race. After serving it, I couldn’t maintain the pace, and I stayed out of the top fifteen. Now we go back to Europe, and with some adjustments, we will be able to make the improvement we need. We will continue working to arrive in Jerez more competitive. We can’t wait!”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 7th
“Overall, I’m happy with the race because we managed to limit the damage. We recovered quite a bit, and in terms of pace, we weren’t as far off the leaders as we had been throughout the rest of the weekend. The most positive and interesting thing is that we learned something more here, which will help us work better in the upcoming races: both in terms of me as a rider helping the bike, and the bike helping me. It was a productive race. It’s definitely not the result I was hoping for, but we still came away with some points, and that’s not bad. The team gave me great support: we worked hard and well, so I want to thank them. I think we can take another step forward and fight more for the top positions. It was a great comeback, I had fun, and now we’ll try to arrive in Jerez even more prepared”.
