QUALIFYING: SECOND AND SIXTH ROWS FOR MB CONVEYORS SPEEDUP

The MB Conveyors SpeedUp riders returned to action at the Le Mans circuit to determine their position on the starting grid for tomorrow’s race.

Incredible performance by Lopez who confirmed yesterday’s excellent performance by closing qualifying in sixth position, while Aldeguer improved but ended the day in p18 due to a technical problem during Q2.

On the second day of the French Grand Prix, Alonso Lopez closed the three free practice sessions with the tenth time in 1’36.539 to +0.678 from the first. The number 21 proved to have good pace and a lot of determination in each session until he gained direct access to Q2 where he continued the excellent work started yesterday. Second and well-deserved row with the sixth fastest time in 1’36.269 (+0.466) for Lopez and the MB Conveyors SpeedUp team.

On the other side of the garage, Aldeguer managed to find more stability thanks to a different set-up of the bike that allowed him to improve his feeling on track. 1’36,688 the time with which he finished the combined free practice and by a whisker he did not get direct access to Q2. With an excellent 1’36.278 Fermin then passed the Q1, but on his return to the track for the final qualifying he was stopped by a technical problem under braking that prevented him from going beyond the eighteenth position.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 6th in 1’36.269

“Very happy with this second day because we have improved a lot compared to yesterday. In FP3 we got back to having an excellent feeling and I honestly didn’t expect to go so fast in qualifying! We are thrilled with the work done so far and that we have made a great step forward. Let’s stay and see what the weather will be like tomorrow and, in any case, ready to enjoy the race!”.

FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 18th in 1’37.098

“A really important step from yesterday to today because the sensations up until yesterday were not good and a change of setting helped us to improve our time this morning even if unfortunately, we did not qualify directly in Q2. However, we faced Q1 with good expectations and so it was. We went out on track with a lot of determination, improving our lap time and gaining access to Q2. A problem with the front brake then left us with no possibility of ranking ahead of p18. Honestly, these are problems that can happen in a race weekend and nothing, let’s keep working for tomorrow!”.
