After setting the tenth time of the combined with a time of 1’23.096, Fermín returned to the track for Q2, where thanks to a strategic tire change, he stopped the clock at 1’22.905, thus gaining third position. For the young man from Murcia, this result marks the second consecutive start from the front row.
On the other side of the box, López concluded the final free practice session in eighth place in the standings, with a time of 1’22.997. However, Alonso was unable to find the fastest lap but still qualified with the tenth fastest time in 1’23.127. The Madrilenian will therefore start from the fourth line in tomorrow’s match.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 3rd in 1’22.905
“We have a good feeling; we lack nothing to be able to win tomorrow. The time improved today between free practice and Q2 and we must continue on this line of work. Doing a good qualifying is certainly crucial as recovering is never easy, especially on such a technical circuit with very tight corners. For tomorrow the key words are concentration and tranquility. Let’s see what will happen”.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 10th in 1’23.127
“Today I am much more satisfied than yesterday’s result. Tomorrow we will give everything and try not to make the same mistakes. I am convinced that we can have an excellent race”.
