BETA TOOLS SPEED UP
FOURTH ROW FOR LÓPEZ AND SIXTH FOR ALDEGUER IN THE MALAYSIAN GP QUALIFYING
The Malaysian Grand Prix qualifying has just ended at the Sepang International Circuit. The Beta Tools SpeedUp riders will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth and sixth row of the starting grid, tenth position for López and sixteenth for Aldeguer.
Malaysian Saturday started with the last free practice session in which Alonso gained direct access to Q2 with an excellent 2’07.086, fourth position in the combined standings. In qualifying, number #21 scored his best lap in 2’06.952 at the beginning of the session, taking tenth place.
Aldeguer also confirmed his provisional Q2 on Friday by lowering his lap time by one second to 2’07.379 and closing the three free practice sessions in seventh position. Team #54 then encountered some feeling problems at the front that prevented him from going beyond sixteenth position in his first Malaysian qualifying.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 10th in 2’06.952
“It makes me angry to have ended the day like this. Unfortunately, the driving conditions changed a lot and I think we both suffered during qualifying. I think I could have done a much better QP, but that’s the way it went and so tomorrow morning we’ll fix details for the race because I’m sure we can do well!”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 16th in 2’07.535
“Honestly, I expected a better qualifying, I’m not happy with the position reached and the sensations with the bike. We will analyze the data to understand the reason and already tonight we will study how to solve the feeling problems encountered today. We are ready for the comeback!”.
