QUALIFYING: FRONT ROW START FOR NAVARRO, THIRD IN QP. FIFTH ROW FOR THE YOUNG ALDEGUER

Jorge Navarro back to take the front row of the starting grid and does so on the Tuscan circuit of the Italian Grand Prix. The young Fermín Aldeguer continues to amaze by closing qualifying with the fifteenth time.

At the end of the third free practice session, Navarro gained direct access to Q2 with the eleventh fastest time in 1’51.710 scored during FP2 on Friday. Moto2 qualifying started with uncertain weather. Immediately fast, after a few laps Navarro placed himself among the first. The decision to change the tire proved to be fundamental because on his return to the track he set the third best time in 1’51.097, winning the front row.

An incredible day also for Fermin who thrilled everyone on his debut in the Moto2 class of the World Championship. Aldeguer closed the free practice with the nineteenth fastest time, touching direct access to Q2 by just two tenths. The young Spaniard made it through Q1 with an excellent first time of 1’51.710 scored on the third lap. In final qualifying, despite some problems with the rear tire, Fermín took the fifteenth time in 1’52.191 and thus the fifth row in tomorrow’s race.

This morning during the last free practice session we realized that we had to improve something on the bike so before the QP we made some changes, which proved to be fundamental in qualifying. The feeling with the bike has improved a lot and I’m happy to be able to find a fast lap that brought us to the front row! I’m looking forward to tomorrow to demonstrate our potential!”.
