BETA TOOLS SPEEDUP
P5 AND P7 FOR LÓPEZ AND ALDEGUER ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE THAI GP
The Beta Tools SpeedUp returned to the track at the Chang International Circuit, the scene of the eighteenth round of the season that today saw López and Aldeguer close the first Thai day in P5 and P7 respectively.
The number 21 completed the morning by placing tenth with a time of 1’36.220, despite the multiple yellow flags on the track. In the afternoon, after the pit stop for the tire change, Alonso managed to significantly improve his time, closing the afternoon session in fifth place in the combined standings thanks to an excellent 1’35.632.
Aldeguer used the FP to optimize the Boscoscuro setup, finishing the first session of the day in P3 with a time of 1’35.987. In FP1, Fermín started with the used morning tyre to simulate a possible race condition. Unfortunately, with just a few minutes to go in the session, the number 54 encountered a technical issue that compromised his pace. However, Fermín ended the day in P7 with a time of 1’35.725, just +0.452 off the leader.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 5th in 1’35.632
“I’m happy with how today went. We worked hard this morning to find the right feeling. In fact, in the afternoon we significantly improved the time. For tomorrow we have a clear idea of what we have to do and where we want to get to”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 7th in 1’35.725
“In the afternoon I went out with the tire that had 15 laps from the morning session to understand how they would react in the race. The feeling was not at its best and the pace can definitely improve. Also, I had an electronics problem and for this reason I was not able to ride as I wanted. Tomorrow we will definitely do our best”.
