P4 AND P11 FOR THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDUP RIDERS ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE INDONESIAN GP
The Beta Tools SpeedUp team has returned to the Mandalika International Circuit for the fifteenth race of the Moto2 World Championship, marking the start of the long-awaited Asian tour. Friday in Indonesia concluded positively, with Aldeguer and López finishing in fourth and eleventh places respectively in the combined standings.
Fermín showcased great confidence aboard his Boscoscuro, reaffirming the good feeling with the track where he had previously secured a podium finish in 2023. During the morning free practice, the number 54 rider stood out by recording the fastest lap in 1’33.955. Despite the afternoon session being challenging due to scorching asphalt temperatures reaching 65 degrees, Aldeguer quickly adapted. After a tire change and some setup adjustments, he improved his morning time, stopping the clock at 1’33.887, thus securing fourth place.
Even Alonso ended the first day with a solid performance. During the morning session, he made two pit stops for a tire change and some technical variations, finishing with the eighth best time of 1’34.812. In the afternoon, the Madrilenian rider and his team focused on preparing for Sunday’s race, emphasizing braking and tire management, crucial elements for handling a long and hot race. López ultimately concluded the day in eleventh position in the combined standings, recording a time of 1’34.325.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 4th in 1’33.887
“I am very satisfied with the feeling today. We were consistent in every lap, and the race pace is definitely competitive. Now we will carefully analyze all the data to identify where we can improve for tomorrow’s qualifying. The potential is there, and tomorrow morning, with a few degrees cooler than this afternoon, the times could drop even further. Tomorrow I will give my all to secure pole position”.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 11th in 1’34.325
“If we can refine some details, we can be faster and more competitive. In FP1 I made some mistakes and I will definitely have to improve in the first and third sectors if I want to secure one of the first two rows. However, the feeling is very positive and tomorrow we will give everything to get the best possible result”.
