FREE PRACTICE: NAVARRO P13 AND ALDEGUER P22 IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE VALENCIA GP
The Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana has started today, the last round of the 2021 Moto2 World Championship.
As expected, the first free practice session took place on a wet track. Aldeguer showed good feeling and pace in the wet by finishing the session with the eighth fastest time in 1’47.205 (+0.618), while Navarro took no risks by closing FP1 in p23.
In the afternoon FP2 took place on a dry track and both teams therefore changed the setting and the tires of the two Boscoscuro bikes in the Termozeta SpeedUp garage. Navarro immediately showed speed and good pace placing himself among the first in the first run. Midway through the session, Jorge and his team tried some rear changes without getting the desired results. P13 at the end of the day for JN9 in 1’36.434 (+0.577).
Positive feelings in both conditions for Aldeguer. The sixteen year old also lapped well in the wet, stopping the clock just one second from the first, taking the twenty-second position in the combined standings with the time of 1’36.890.
JORGE NAVARRO #9: 13th in 1’36.434
“Weird day. We started in the wet and then in the dry even if there were some damp sections. To tell the truth, in the dry I felt quite comfortable right from the start of the session apart from a few small problems that we tried to solve but we couldn’t. We certainly understood how to continue tomorrow’s work, so focus on the third free practice session to find the right feeling and improve”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 22nd in 1’36.890
“The first day was quite positive with different sensations during the two FP carried out. In the FP1 I felt good, a good feeling in the wet. In the afternoon, the first time for me on this track with the Boscoscuro in dry conditions, I found myself quite well. As I rode the times went down and the changes we made to the bike went well. I am sure that tomorrow we will take the step forward we need!”.
