SEVENTH AND NINTH ROWS FOR THE SYNC SPEEDUP IN MALAYSIAN GP QUALIFYING

The second day of the Malaysian Grand Prix concluded with results below expectations for the Sync SpeedUp team, with riders Alonso López and Alberto Surra set to start from the seventh and ninth rows, respectively, in tomorrow’s race.

Despite the team’s hard work and the riders’ efforts to improve yesterday’s times, access to Q2 remained out of reach. In the final free practice session, López posted the sixteenth-fastest time with a lap of 2’05.422, while Surra recorded the twenty-sixth-fastest time with a 2’06.678. Both riders showed progress during Q1, though they were unable to complete a fast enough lap to advance further in the standings and compete for the front rows.

Tomorrow, rider number 21 will start from the twentieth spot on the grid, while number 67 will occupy the twenty-fifth position, corresponding to the seventh and ninth rows, respectively.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 20th in 2’05.624

“Today we made progress compared to yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to reach Q2. The team worked hard to fine-tune the bike, but we missed that extra edge to be more competitive. The race will be long, and the heat will be an important factor to manage; I’ll focus on a strong start and consistency to move up through the field”.

ALBERTO SURRA #67: 25th in 2’06.483

“Today was a good day because we made great improvements. I’ve gained a lot of confidence riding my Boscoscuro. The team and I are doing an excellent job, and we hope to take another step forward in tomorrow’s race”.
