ARAGON GP QUALIFYING: SECOND AND FOURTH ROWS FOR SYNC SPEEDUP
The Sync SpeedUp team concludes the qualifying session for the Aragon Grand Prix with López in sixth place and Aldeguer in eleventh, securing the second and fourth rows on the starting grid, respectively.
The wet track conditions had a significant impact on the riders’ performances during the morning session. Alonso recorded a time of 1’59.335, which was slower than the record of 1’50.989 set the previous day, but he still managed to finish first in FP2. Thanks to the exceptional time achieved yesterday, the number 21 rider had direct access to Q2, where he secured seventh place with a competitive 1’51.968. Additionally, due to the penalty imposed on Arenas at the end of FP1, López will start from the second row tomorrow.
Fermín also struggled to improve his time during FP2, but the time of 1’51.299 recorded yesterday secured his place in the qualifying session. During Q2, the persistent lack of grip limited his chances of competing for the top positions, and he ended the day in eleventh place with a time of 1’52.358. Aldeguer will start from the fourth row of the grid in tomorrow’s race.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 6th in 1’51.968
“We thought we could get the front row. The various crashes on the track slowed me down a bit and I tried not to push too hard, especially since I thought I had already secured the front row. Tomorrow, I’ll aim for a good start and to maintain a high pace. We know it won’t be an easy race, especially with Dixon in pole position, who is definitely a tough competitor”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 11th in 1’52.358
“The track has changed a lot and this has created some difficulties for us. However, it’s nothing we can’t resolve. Tomorrow, I expect to be in the top 5, but anything is possible!”.
