BRITISH GP QUALIFYING: LÓPEZ AND ALDEGUER TO START FROM THE FOURTH ROW OF THE GRID
At the Silverstone Circuit, GT Trevisan SpeedUp finishes the British Grand Prix qualifying with López and Aldeguer in tenth and eleventh positions.
During the second free practice session, Alonso did not improve his time of 2’04.087 set yesterday but still managed to qualify tenth in the combined classification. In Q2, the rider number 21 maintained a good pace, recording a time of 2’03.378 which secured him the tenth position on the grid, placing him on the fourth row.
Despite difficulties in FP2 where he ended with the eighteenth time (2’04.573), Aldeguer advanced from Q1 with the fastest time, securing a spot in the final qualifying session. In Q2, the young rider from Murcia faced further challenges, particularly following Roberts, a strategy that did not prove entirely effective. Nevertheless, Fermín achieved the eleventh position and will share the fourth row of the starting grid with his teammate tomorrow.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 10th in 2’03.378
“The day didn’t go as we had hoped, but despite that, tomorrow we have the opportunity to make a good start and recover positions quickly. The goal for tomorrow’s race is to get good points for the drivers’ championship”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 11th in 2’03.463
“We thought we were making some progress today, but unfortunately we didn’t get the improvements we were hoping for. We didn’t go backwards, but we didn’t go forward either. We decided to go back to the bike configuration we had at Sachsenring. In Q1 I felt quite good with my Boscoscuro, but I was still more than a second behind the leader. In Q2 I tried to follow Roberts, but it wasn’t a good choice, as his references were different to mine. I’m optimistic about tomorrow’s race and I think it’s possible to make up ground and maybe finish in the top5”.
