AT MOTORLAND ARAGON ALONSO NEARS THE PODIUM, WHILE FERMÍN CRASHES AFTER A FEW LAPS
At MotorLand Aragon, López secures an excellent fourth place, while Aldeguer leaves the Aragon GP empty-handed after a crash.
Alonso delivered an exemplary race, earning a well-deserved fourth place with determination. Managing the race with intelligence and caution, López gradually advanced from sixth to third position, before losing a spot six laps from the end. With this result, the rider number 21 concludes an exceptional weekend, placing third in the overall standings, just 27 points behind the Championship leader.
Aldeguer, after a promising start that saw him climb from eleventh to third position, demonstrated superior race pace. However, a collision with the Turkish in the early laps compromised his race, forcing him to end the Grand Prix with a crash. Fortunately, Fermín emerged unscathed from the incident but leaves Aragon empty-handed.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 4th
“I’m happy. I made a mistake in choosing the front tyre but I can’t complain about how the race went and the whole weekend in general. I always felt comfortable on the bike and with a great feeling. After this race we are much closer to the first of the World Championship. Misano is already around the corner and we know we can do very well. Thanks to my team who did an extraordinary job”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: DNF
“We didn’t expect a race like this. I had more speed than the others and could have easily finished on the podium. Unfortunately, while trying to pass Öncü, I crashed, ending my race after a few laps. Now we’ll take a couple of days to recover and give our best in Misano”.
