AMERICAS GP: LÓPEZ E VIETTI SI ASSICURANO L’ACCESSO IN Q2 GRAZIE AL TERZO E AL QUINTO TEMPO DELLA GIORNATA 

Il Team HDR Heidrun si distingue fin da subito al Circuit of The Americas (COTA) di Austin, chiudendo il venerdì di prove libere con un terzo e un quinto posto nonostante le condizioni meteo instabili.

La pioggia, che ha caratterizzato tutta la giornata, non ha impedito ad Alonso Lopez di mettersi in evidenza sin dalle prime battute. Nella prima sessione di prove libere, il pilota spagnolo ha chiuso con un quinto posto fermando il cronometro in 2’20.645. Nel pomeriggio, nonostante il tracciato iniziasse ad asciugarsi, López ha deciso di mantenere i pneumatici da bagnato, sfruttando al massimo il grip residuo per ottenere il terzo miglior tempo della Practice con un crono di 2’19.415.

Anche Celestino ha dimostrato grande abilità sul bagnato, posizionandosi nella top5 della giornata. Nelle FP1 ha siglato un ottimo quarto tempo in 2’20.635, mentre nella sessione pomeridiana ha mostrato una grande capacità di gestione completando la Practice senza effettuare alcun pit-stop, concludendo in quinta posizione e segnando un tempo di 2’20.030.

Grazie a questi ottimi risultati, entrambi i piloti del Team HDR Heidrun hanno ottenuto l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 3° in 2’19.415

“Sono rimasto sorpreso perché la pista permetteva di spingere, tanto che non riuscivo a capire dove fosse il limite. Questa mattina è andata bene, mentre oggi pomeriggio, con la pista leggermente più asciutta, sono andato ancora meglio. Durante la Practice ho cambiato pneumatico, ma sono subito rientrato perché sentivo che qualcosa non andava. Tuttavia, dopo essere tornato in pista, tutto è tornato alla normalità. Siamo sereni perché le sensazioni sono buone e, con la pista asciutta, non possiamo far altro che migliorare”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 5° in 2’20.030

“È stato un buon venerdì, siamo stati competitivi fin da subito e abbiamo centrato l’obiettivo, ovvero mantenere il ritmo e il feeling anche sul bagnato, condizione con cui ultimamente facevo fatica ad adattarmi. Oggi abbiamo fatto un grande lavoro di squadra e i risultati si sono visti. Ora non ci resta che sperare e vedere quali saranno le condizioni domani. In ogni caso, se domenica la gara dovesse svolgersi su pista bagnata, siamo pronti ad affrontarla”.

AMERICAS GP: LÓPEZ AND VIETTI SECURE Q2 ACCESS THANKS TO THIRD AND FIFTH FASTEST TIMES OF THE DAY

The HDR Heidrun Team stood out right from the start at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, wrapping up Friday’s free practice sessions with a third and fifth place despite unstable weather conditions.
The rain did not prevent Alonso López from making his mark from the very first laps. In the first free practice session, the Spanish rider finished in fifth place, stopping the clock at 2’20.645. In the afternoon, despite the track starting to dry out, López decided to keep wet tires, making the most of the remaining grip to achieve the third fastest time of the Practice with a lap of 2’19.415.
Even Celestino Vietti demonstrated great skill on the wet surface, placing himself in the top5. In FP1, he set an excellent fourth time of 2’20.635, while in the afternoon session, he showcased impressive management skills by completing the Practice without making any pit stops, finishing in fifth position with a time of 2’20.030.
Thanks to these excellent results, both HDR Heidrun Team riders have secured direct access to tomorrow’s Q2.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 3rd in 2’19.415
“I was surprised because the track allowed us to push so much that I couldn’t quite figure out where the limit was. This morning went well, and in the afternoon, with the track slightly drier, I performed even better. During Practice, I changed the tire but immediately came back in because I felt something was wrong. However, after returning to the track, everything was back to normal. We’re confident because the feeling is good, and with a dry track, we can only improve”.

“It was a good Friday; we were competitive from the start and achieved our goal of maintaining rhythm and feeling even on the wet surface, which I had struggled with recently. Today we did a great team job, and the results were evident. Now we just have to hope and see what the conditions will be like tomorrow. In any case, if Sunday’s race takes place on a wet track, we’re ready to face it”.
