QUINTA E SESTA FILA PER IL TEAM HDR HEIDRUN NELLE QUALIFICHE DEL GP DEL QATAR

Si è conclusa la seconda giornata di qualifiche al Lusail International Circuit con Celestino Vietti in P14 e Alonso López in P18. I due piloti del Team HDR Heidrun scatteranno domani rispettivamente dalla quinta e sesta fila della griglia di partenza. López dovrà inoltre scontare un long lap penalty durante la gara, in seguito alla penalità ricevuta nella Practice di ieri.

Nelle FP2 del mattino, il madrileno non è riuscito a migliorare il tempo ottenuto venerdì, ma ha comunque chiuso con l’undicesima posizione in 1’58.177. Grazie al buon risultato del giorno precedente, Alonso ha avuto accesso diretto alla Q2, dove ha cercato di difendersi al meglio, ma non è riuscito a completare un giro competitivo. La sua giornata si è conclusa con il diciottesimo tempo, in 1’57.830.

Per Vietti, invece, la giornata è andata migliorando. Dopo le difficoltà incontrate ieri, il pilota italiano ha trovato un miglior feeling con la sua Boscoscuro, chiudendo la FP2 in P16 con un tempo di 1’58.422. In Q1 ha compiuto un significativo passo avanti, conquistando l’accesso alla Q2 grazie al quarto crono in 1’57.341. In qualifica, però, una caduta di Aji all’ultima curva ha rovinato il suo giro migliore proprio mentre stava per chiudere un tempo che gli avrebbe potuto garantire la seconda fila. Cele dovrà così partire dalla quattordicesima posizione in griglia, ovvero dalla quinta fila.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 18° in 1’57.830

“In Q2 ho dato tutto, ma non sono riuscito a chiudere un giro davvero competitivo. Purtroppo partire dalla sesta fila non è l’ideale, e la penalità del long lap complicherà ulteriormente la gara. Detto questo, cercherò di fare una buona partenza per restare agganciato al gruppo davanti e darò il massimo fino alla fine”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 14° in 1’57.304

“Non abbiamo concluso come avremmo voluto, però nel complesso è stata una giornata positiva. Siamo riusciti a fare un bel passo avanti in termini di velocità. In Q2 avevamo il potenziale per fare bene, ma all’ultimo giro non siamo stati particolarmente fortunati. Nonostante questo, è importante concentrarsi sugli aspetti positivi: il feeling con la moto è migliorato, la velocità pure. Domani ci aspetta una gara tosta, dovremo rimontare e gestire bene le gomme, ma se riusciamo a farlo credo che potremo fare una buona gara”.

FIFTH AND SIXTH ROW FOR THE HDR HEIDRUN TEAM IN THE QATAR GP QUALIFYING 

The second day of qualifying at the Lusail International Circuit has concluded with Celestino Vietti in P14 and Alonso López in P18. The two riders of Team HDR Heidrun will start tomorrow from the fifth and sixth rows of the starting grid, respectively. López will also have to serve a long lap penalty during the race following the penalty received in yesterday’s practice session.

In FP2 this morning, the Spaniard was unable to improve on the time set on Friday, but he still finished in eleventh place with a time of 1’58.177. Thanks to his strong result the previous day, Alonso advanced directly to Q2, where he tried to defend himself as best as he could, but he was unable to complete a competitive lap. His day ended with eighteenth place and a time of 1’58.940.

As for Vietti, the day showed improvement. After facing difficulties yesterday, the Italian rider found a better feeling with his Boscoscuro, finishing FP2 in P16 with a time of 1’58.422. In Q1, he made significant progress, securing a spot in Q2 with the fourth-fastest time of 1’57.341. However, in qualifying, a crash by Aji at the final corner ruined his best lap just as he was about to post a time that would have placed him in the second row. Cele will therefore start from the fourteenth position on the grid, meaning the fifth row.

“In Q2, I gave it everything, but I wasn’t able to complete a truly competitive lap. Unfortunately, starting from the sixth row isn’t ideal, and the long lap penalty will make the race even more challenging. That said, I will try to make a good start, stay close to the group ahead, and give my best until the end”.

“We didn’t finish as we would have liked, but overall it was a positive day. We managed to make a nice improvement in terms of speed. In Q2, we had the potential to do well, but in the final lap, we weren’t particularly lucky. Despite that, it’s important to focus on the positives: the feeling with the bike has improved, and so has the speed. Tomorrow will be a tough race; we will need to make up positions and manage the tires well, but if we manage to do that, I believe we can have a strong race”.
