GARA THAI GP: LÓPEZ CHIUDE IN TOP 10, VIETTI OUT DOPO UN CONTATTO CON AGIUS A 10 GIRI DAL TRAGUARDO

Il primo round del Campionato Mondiale Moto2 2025 si è chiuso con emozioni contrastanti per il Team HDR Heidrun. Celestino Vietti, autore di un’ottima partenza e subito protagonista nel gruppo di testa, ha visto sfumare il podio a dieci giri dalla fine a causa di un contatto con Agius. Alonso López, invece, ha condotto una gara solida chiudendo il Thai GP in top 10.

Scattato con determinazione allo spegnersi dei semafori, Vietti ha preso subito il comando, salvo poi essere superato dal poleman e futuro vincitore della gara, Manuel González. A dieci giri dal termine, mentre lottava per il podio in seconda posizione, il pilota italiano è stato travolto da un sorpasso aggressivo di Agius, che lo ha costretto alla caduta e ha posto fine alla sua corsa.

Dall’altra parte del box, nonostante una partenza poco brillante, López è riuscito a mantenere costanza e concentrazione per tutti i 22 giri sotto il torrido caldo thailandese, tagliando infine il traguardo in decima posizione.

Il Team HDR Heidrun è già proiettato verso il prossimo appuntamento in Argentina, in programma nel weekend del 14-16 marzo.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 10° 

“È stata una gara molto impegnativa, soprattutto per il caldo intenso che ha reso tutto più difficile. La partenza non è stata delle migliori, ma ho cercato di rimanere concentrato e di gestire al meglio il passo per recuperare posizioni. Alla fine, portiamo a casa un piazzamento in top 10, che è un buon punto di partenza per la stagione. Ovviamente vogliamo di più, quindi lavoreremo sodo per migliorare in vista dell’Argentina. Ringrazio il team per il grande lavoro svolto durante il weekend e non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: DNF

“Peccato che il weekend sia finito così, perché è stato molto produttivo. Abbiamo migliorato il feeling turno dopo turno, lavorando bene e riuscendo a chiudere il gap con i primi sempre di più. Credo che questa sia la strada giusta per raggiungere ottimi risultati. Potevamo sicuramente portare a casa dei bei punti, ma è comunque un’esperienza utile per le prossime gare. Ora dobbiamo mantenere alto il morale e continuare a lavorare con impegno, perché alla fine i risultati arrivano”.

THAI GP RACE: LÓPEZ FINISHES IN TOP 10, VIETTI OUT AFTER CONTACT WITH AGIUS 10 LAPS FROM THE FINISH LINE

The first round of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship ended with mixed emotions for Team HDR Heidrun. Celestino Vietti, who made an excellent start and was immediately a protagonist in the leading group, saw his podium hopes vanish ten laps from the end due to contact with Agius. Alonso López, on the other hand, delivered a solid race, finishing the Thai GP in the top 10.

Vietti launched off the line with determination, taking the lead immediately before being overtaken by poleman and eventual race winner, Manuel González. Settling into second place with a strong pace, the Italian rider was fighting for the podium when an aggressive overtaking attempt by Agius forced him to crash, ending his race prematurely.

On the other side of the garage, López didn’t have the best start but maintained consistency and focus throughout the 22 laps under the scorching Thai heat. The number 21 rider ultimately crossed the finish line in tenth place.

Team HDR Heidrun is now fully focused on the next round in Argentina, scheduled for the weekend of March 14-16.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 10th

“It was a very demanding race, especially because of the intense heat that made everything more difficult. The start wasn’t the best, but I tried to stay focused and manage the pace as best as possible to recover positions. In the end, we bring home a top 10 finish, which is a good starting point for the season. Obviously we want more, so we will work hard to improve for Argentina. I thank the team for the great work done during the weekend and I can’t wait to get back on track”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: DNF

“It’s a shame the weekend ended like this because it was very productive. We improved the feeling step by step, working well and closing the gap with the leaders more and more. I believe this is the right path to achieve great results. We could have definitely taken home some good points, but it’s still a valuable experience for the upcoming races. Now, we need to keep our spirits high and continue working hard, because in the end, results will come”.
